JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo said that it's convinced that former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu and flamboyant artist, Papa Penny, won’t help to grow the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in the province.

Both leaders have their roots firmly planted in the province, with Papa Penny joining just before the 29 May polls and Shivambu doing so in August.

The MK Party’s attempts to rally support in Limpopo have fallen flat but some pundits believe the addition of the two leaders might make it more appealing to residents in the province, a view which has been dismissed by Limpopo ANC provincial secretary, Reuben Madadazhe.

Madadzhe said that only the EFF must worry about Shivambu’s decision to throw out his red overalls.

"The ANC has got no view when it comes to the movement of Floyd from the EFF to MK, we are focusing on our own programme. We don’t check what these other parties are doing and that is what made us to get the results that we got."
