The City of Cape Town and Sea Point community groups have put out a notice on Facebook about the temporary closure of Sea Point swimming pools due to a 'sink hole' and an issue relating to the pool's main pipe.
Maintenance commences on Tuesday, 17 September.
'The City is working hard to ensure the facility is safe and sustainable. In the meantime, please use the Long Street indoor swimming pool,' said a statement by the City of Cape Town.
Friedman wonders if the recent heavy rains and winds might have contributed to the sink hole and hopes it will be repaired for patrons by summer.
