Police hunting 2nd suspect allegedly involved in OR Tambo International Airport cocaine trafficking

JOHANNESBURG - Police have launched a manhunt for a second suspect allegedly involved in the trafficking of cocaine through OR Tambo International Airport.
At the weekend, a multi-disciplinary law enforcement team arrested a Nigerian drug mule who had the drug.

The illicit substance was concealed inside several aircraft headphone devices that he had on his person.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said they believe the alleged mule was working with a cleaner at the airport.
“We are searching for a cleaner who is working at OR Tambo International Airport. We believe that he was in cahoots with the arrested suspect, so we continue to urge our members to continue with the hard work. Management is behind you, and we are quite encouraged by the levels of response at the airport in terms of preventing and combating the illicit drug trafficking trade.”
