DJ Sbu pays tribute to late Darlington 'Papa G' Michaels
The actor, fondly known as Papa G – his character’s name in SA soapie Isidingo, died on Friday.

JOHANNESBURG - Radio personality and musician Sibusiso "DJ Sbu" Leope says legendary actor Darlington Michaels was a father to the nation.
The actor, fondly known as Papa G – his character’s name in SA soapie Isidingo, died on Friday.
The 54-year-old starred in many films and shows such as 'Cry, the Beloved Country' and 'Chikin Biznis'.
In 2016, Michaels suffered a stroke that forced him to take a break from acting, to focus solely on his recovery.
DJ Sbu said Papa G had done a lot for the industry and the country:
"You healed us, you entertained us, you informed us, you educated us and inspired some of us to want to be on TV. It’s quite sad to hear the news of your passing while driving on our way to the funeral of Sandile ‘Mapaputsi’ Ngwenya. May you rest in peace. For us, you will always remain as Papa G.”
