Black Coffee, Major League DJz, DJ Euphonik and Kelvin Momo scored nominations at this year’s DJ Awards.

The awards, often referred to as the ‘Oscars of Electronic Music’, recognise the very best in the industry from across the world.

Mzansi’s best on the decks scored nominations in the Afro category.

Black Coffee has previously won four DJ Awards – three for Best Deep House DJ and one for Breakthrough DJ.

In a joint statement, Major League DJz, Bandile Mbere and Zinhle Ngidi say it is a ‘dream come true’.

“We’ve always believed in the power of African music to unite people, and to be recognised on this scale is a win not just for us, but for every artist pushing the sound of the continent forward.”

The coveted DJ of the Year award will see heavyweights Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mine, Fisher, Martin Garrix, Peggy Gou and the Swedish House Mafia go head-to-head.
