JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng said that the late former Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan left an indelible mark on the party’s structures.
On Friday afternoon, members of the ANC, family, colleagues, and friends visited the Gordhan hone in Pretoria to pay their respects.
The 75-year-old ANC NEC member died in the early hours of Friday morning following a short battle with cancer.
Among mourners gathered at his home were Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, ANC acting spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi and the party’s provincial secretary, TK Nciza, who lauded Gordhan as a visionary.
"He was a congressman. He will be remembered by our structures for the contribution he made in ensuring that all people enjoy the freedom that they have today. I mean the UDF played a very critical role in mobilising the forces of the country when the ANC was banned and he was one of those who was leading."
