CAPE TOWN - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said that the alleged housing tender corruption under the watch of former Cape Town housing mayoral committee member, Malusi Booi, was worth more than R1 billion and not R850 million as initially stated.
Booi and nine of his co-accused were back at the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Friday to continue their bail application.
The State accuses Booi of helping alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield, run a housing racket within the city’s Human Settlements directorate.
The court also heard that this matter would be added to a gang case involving Stanfield and 13 other accused, which was also before the same court.
