JOHANNESBURG - Rock musician Jon Bon Jovi has received praise from around the world after assisting in taking a woman down from the ledge of a bridge in Nashville.

The now-viral video was shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Wednesday.

"A shout-out to Jon bon Jovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge on Tue Night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety," the police department's caption read on X.

"It takes all of us to keep each other safe," Chief John Drake added.

In the clip, a woman can be seen leaning precariously over the ledge of the bridge. Jovi and another woman slowly begin to approach her. After greeting her, Jovi leans over the bridge while the other woman reassures her. They move closer, and eventually convince her to climb back over the ledge to safety.

Social media users were quick to quote eerily relevant lyrics to some of his best hits, along with solidifying his rock star status.

The musician is the frontman of US rockband Bon Jovi, known for hits such as It's My LifeAlwaysLivin' on a Prayer, and You Give Love a Bad Name.
