Gordhan was hospitalised earlier this week, where the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation said he continues to receive treatment for an undisclosed condition.
The 75-year-old retired from active politics after the May polls, after thirty years in government.
“In paying tribute to his incredible bravery during the nine wasted years of the Zuma era, our thoughts and prayers should be with him and his family in this particularly difficult time. Certainly, from my side as the leader of the Democratic Alliance, we wish him a speedy recovery, and we wish comfort to his family and friends.”
