JOHANNESBURG - Supporters of controversial pastor Paseka "Mboro" Motsoeneng have welcomed his release on bail.
Motsoeneng was granted R3,000 bail on Thursday, while his co-accused and bodyguard, Vincent Baloyi, was released on a warning.
The duo will have to adhere to strict bail conditions following his release.
They were arrested in August after storming a primary school in Katlehong wielding a panga, while forcefully removing two learners believed to be his grandchildren from the facility.
Apostle Kholofelo Maduna says Mboro's release will benefit all South Africans.
“The nation is waiting for him to do his work outside. We are celebrating, we are happy, we can see that things have changed now. You can see the atmosphere outside of everyone on the street that they are happy.”
