JOHANNESBURG - The ANC, MK Party and IFP are set to this weekend campaign in different parts of KwaZulu-Natal for next week's by-elections.
Several by-elections will take place in the Ray Nkonyeni, Nkandla, eThekwini and Moses Mooi Mpofana local municipalities.
Most of the wards belonged to the DA and ANC, while only one was IFP-controlled.
There are six by-elections taking place in the province next week, most of them are contested by the ANC, MK party and IFP.
The MK is pushing to have more councillors in the province, after having won their first ward in the uMzumbe Local Municipality in June.
Party national organiser, Floyd Shivambu, is set to campaign in the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality on Saturday.
Last week, he told party supporters in the province that they wanted to win all wards they were contesting.
"We want to send a very strong warning to all corners of South Africa that when it comes to elections, we are taking everything. We are going to win all the wards here in KwaZulu-Natal and take over all the municipalities," said Shivambu
ANC provincial leaders will also be hosting programmes in all the contested wards.
