JOHANNESBURG - Gospel musician Solly Moholo needs R700,000 in order to have brain surgery.
The 64-year-old musician, whose real name is Solomon Molokoane, became unwell while on tour in Botswana and it was revealed last week that he was transferred from a hospital in Botswana to one in South Africa. His family has requested financial support while he remains in intensive care unit.
Facebook users wrote in a social network post: "Ntate Solly Moholo gave incredible performances at all of his appearances in Botswana and was warmly received by the locals. Regretfully, Ntate Moholo had to be admitted to a nearby hospital after getting sick after returning to his Botswana home."

The message read: "The legal representatives of Solly Moholo have written the letter below on behalf of the family. Included are the banking details for those who would like to make a donation to help with his medical bills. We appreciate everyone who has already contributed to this cause."
Additionally, his management team requested supporters to keep up their prayers for Solly Moholo.
