JOHANNESBURG - Police are still monitoring the crash site of the tragic accident on Vanrhyns Pass, leaving ten people dead and 29 others injured.

The bus veered off the road on Monday.

An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the crash.

Police on Tuesday prevented Eyewitness News from taking pictures or getting anywhere near the crash site.

A small barricade has been put up on the section of the pass where the bus veered off the road.

The bus and remnants of the crash can also still be seen lying strewn across the bottom of the pass.

Emergency services have since left the area and police at the site say all of the 42 passengers have been removed from the scene.

All lanes on the pass are open and the public has been urged not to share images of the crash on social media.
