Western Cape police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, said that no one would extort money from the police.

"The South African Police Service in the Western Cape would like to caution social media users against disseminating unverified information. The claims are refuted as fake news. Delft Police Station remains operational with no such demands being made," Potelwa said.
