CAPE TOWN - The mother of a grade 10 learner at Forest Heights High School in Eerste River says she fears her daughter might be suicidal following alleged incidents of bullying at the school.
The Cape Town mother claims her daughter has been bullied several times by other learners at the school since February.
She further claims that derogatory remarks of a sexual nature are constantly made about her by other female learners.
The grade 10 learner's parent is accusing the school of sweeping the matter under the carpet after reporting it to the school's principal several times.

She told Eyewitness News that her child refused to go to school after she was allegedly attacked again by one of her bullies last week Thursday.
"On Friday she could not sleep, and she was crying, and I was also afraid that she will commit suicide. This is taking a lot of our energy, even me as a parent, I can't take it anymore because now we have to tiptoe around her, we have to watch because she is on that verge."
The provincial Education Department said it will be launching an investigation into the allegations.
