PIETERMARITZBURG - The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has described former President Jacob Zuma’s arms deal corruption case as a witch-hunt against their leader.
The matter returned before the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday.
Following yet another postponement, the party claims Zuma is being targeted and that courts are used in this regard.
Party national organiser, Floyd Shivhambu, who recently left the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)'s second most senior post, addressed MK supporters outside the court.
"Even this case that he is following here, it's against international law. You can’t put a person on trial for more than 20 years without any solution. Once justice is delayed, it is denied."
He added that the case was a campaign against Zuma but said that they would defend him.
"This is a witch-hunt, and it must be condemned and be rejected by everyone. President Zuma is our leader. He will continue to be our leader. We’ve got full confidence in him."
