JOHANNESBURG - The Passenger Rail Service of South Africa (PRASA) has teamed up with  Gautrain to get fans to the Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg for the Springboks' match against the All Blacks on Saturday.

The Boks and All Blacks will go head-to-head in the first of their two Rugby Championship matches in South Africa, the first meeting since their 2023 Rugby World Cup final clash, which the Boks won 12-11.

Attendees can on Saturday use a Gautrain to travel to Park Station and thereafter use the Metrorail to get to the stadium for free.

Gautrain on Thursday announced that the quick three-minute ride will commence from 10:30 am on Saturday for valid ticket holders, with the last Metrorail train leaving the stadium at 21:30 and the last Gautrain departing at 22:00.

The provincial train service added that at Park Station, marshals will guide valid ticket holders, who will be given armbands for the free service to the Metrorail.

Meanwhile, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) on Thursday warned of major traffic disruptions on the day around the stadium.

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said that several law enforcement officials would be deployed on Saturday to ensure the safety of the attendees.

However, he announced that several roads, as a result of the game, would be affected from Friday at 22:00 to Saturday at 22:00 after the match had concluded.

Fihla said motorists not using the stadium were advised to use the M1, the M2, and the N3 as alternative routes.
