CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are urging anyone with information about deceased baby found in Clifton to come forward. 

The infant's body was found at 3rd Beach on Saturday after Camps Bay police responded to a report from a member of the public.

"Upon arrival at Third Beach in Victoria Road, they found the body of an unidentified baby who was in the early stages of decomposition. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel," said police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi.

He says they are investigating a case of concealment of birth.

"An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Anyone who can shed light on the circumstances of this incident is kindly requested to call crime stop on 08600 10111."
