The surprise response of the museum? Despite the damage, the museum staff invited the child and his family for another visit.
Thankfully the vase can be repaired and will be back on display within the next two weeks.
According to Friedman, the experts have already started piecing the vase together.
The museum has said they feel there is a special charm in having the pieces unobstructed and will continue to have their treasures in the open.
