JOHANNESBURG - The governing coalition in Tshwane says it has not received any formal communication from ActionSA that it wants to pull out from the pact.
The coalition says it has observed through media reports that ActionSA is unhappy with the current arrangement.
On Wednesday, representatives from the governing coalition in the capital city held a media briefing where ActionSA was visibly absent.
Following the 2021 local government elections, the Democratic Alliance (DA), ActionSA, Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Freedom Front Plus, and African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) entered into a coalition agreement in Tshwane.
The agreement provides for dispute resolution platforms where all aggrieved parties can raise their issues.
The caucus leader of the FF PLUS in Tshwane, Grandi Theunissen, said this has served the coalition well in the past when it comes to settling disagreements.
"Up until today, we have as a coalition not received a single complaint from any party, including ActionSA, why and if they would like to leave the coalition. What we know is what you know, we read it in the press, things that were said by their national leadership," said Theunissen.
Meanwhile, ActionSA has released a statement, saying it is reviewing its relationship with the Tshwane coalition government.
