Popular traditional healer Gogo Maweni and her partner Sabelo Mgube finally walked down the aisle over the weekend.
The pair said their ‘I dos’ in a traditional wedding at his homestead in Maqongo, outside Pietermaritzburg on Sunday (25 August).
They were already legally married but wanted to celebrate the special moment.
Speaking to Sunday World, Maweni said seeing her friends and family come together to celebrate their love felt amazing.
She said Mgube asked her to marry him three months into their relationship and now seven years later, they have finally tied the knot.
“We would have been legally married for years now but without doing any traditional stuff such as lobola and umbondo. But now this was the last part, and I look forward to growing together and making the best of our marriage as well as you know supporting each other and just having fun because it is important.”
