JOHANNESBURG - After falling ill following his return from a concert tour in Botswana, veteran gospel performer, Solly Moholo, is receiving treatment in a hospital.

The 64-year-old, whose real name is Solomon Molokoane, from Soshanguve in Tshwane, is currently in hospital, according to a social media post made by his management team.

"Ntate Solly Moholo was warmly welcomed by the people of Botswana and gave fantastic performances at all of his shows there. Sadly, Ntate Moholo became ill after returning to his home in Botswana and needed to be sent to a local hospital," his management team said.

Moholo had Mzansi in stitches in 2022 when he revealed that he was going to convert to amapiano. He claimed that in addition to praying and abiding by God's word, he still makes amapiano.

Moholo tried his hand at amapiano and recorded a gospel song in 2020, but his singing career was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
