Anti-GBV march in honour of slain Uyinene Mrwetyana to take place in East London
More than 200 people marched to Parliament in Cape Town this past Saturday, to mark five years since the 19-year-old was killed.

CAPE TOWN - An anti-gender-based violence march in honour of late University of Cape Town (UCT) student, Uyinene Mrwetyana, will move to the Eastern Cape this week.
More than 200 people marched to Parliament in Cape Town this past Saturday, to mark five years since the 19-year-old was killed.
Mrwetyana was murdered by post office employee, Luyanda Botha, while picking up her parcel from the Clareinch Post Office.
The Eastern Cape leg of the campaign will take place in East London this coming Saturday. It is organised by the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation, UCT, Langa For Men and the Makazole Mapimpi Foundation.
Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation managing director, Thobeka Msengana, highlighted the importance of collaboration in the fight against gender-based violence and femicide.
Makazole Mapimpi Foundation vice-president, Sibabalwe Sesmani, also expressed the organisation's dedication to the fight against GBV.
