DURBAN - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says a decision on whether to disband its KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) structures will be based on the outcomes of the branch general assemblies.
The party held the last leg of its regional general assemblies in the province on Sunday as branches accounted for the failures in the polls.
On Saturday, six regions including eThekwini accounted to the party’s top officials for their poor performance.
On Sunday, the four remaining regions were expected to undergo the same process.
In July, the EFF reconfigured its Limpopo top five provincial leadership following a poor performance in the general election.
KwaZulu-Natal also had a setback losing six of its eight seats in the provincial legislature.

When asked if KZN would face action in this regard, party national spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys said: “We haven’t discussed it, but what we have discussed is that we don’t want to make a decision up on the top without talking to the branches.”
Mathys said the meetings with branches would determine what the next move will be.
"Obviously, it is definitely an option but solely dependant on the outcomes of the 11 regional general assemblies (RGA) we're having across the province.”
