CAPE TOWN - Police in the West Coast town of St Helena Bay are investigating the discovery of a human skeleton.

Authorities were alerted to the remains in a mountainous area last week.

However, the police's Joseph Swartbooi says they had to call off the recovery operation due to inclement weather.

"The police members, accompanied by members of the local criminal record centre, returned to the identified area Thursday, the 22nd of August where they found the skeleton of an unidentified human being.

“An appeal is hereby made to anyone who can shed light on the circumstances of this incident to please call Crime Stop."
