WATCH: We tried Cape Town’s first amphibious bus, The Waterfront Duck

Ute Hermanus tours Cape Town with the city's first-ever amphibious bus tour, The Waterfront Duck.

Here's how it went...

Quack, quack!

Cape Town welcomes a first of its kind experience to South Africa, that will splash you right out of the water.

The Waterfront Duck is the country’s first amphibious passenger bus, operating from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

The tour runs for one hour with time split between a land and water component.

On land, the bus will cruise you around the Waterfront area, before plunging into the water via a slipway next to the Cape Grace Hotel.

While you take in the sights and the 'quackspacular' experience, the conDUCKtor will share stories about the beauty of Cape Town and the harbour.

This adventure will have you at the edge of your seat, as you wrap your mind around the fact that the bright yellow vehicle, Jenna, with its set of wheels is able to cruise on not only land, but with those exact wheels plunged into the water.

It feels unreal and your eyes will widen from disbelief.

When in the water, you’ll be able to take in a unique view of the yachts and the Two Oceans Aquarium as you move from the Marina through to the Alfred and then Victoria basins.

Passing under the Bascule Bridge and the Swing Bridge.

It is important to note, The Waterfront Duck does not go beyond the confines of the Victoria basin.
