Two people shot and killed in Mitchells Plain, two others wounded

CAPE TOWN - Gun violence in the Cape continues unabated.
 
In the latest incident, in Mitchells Plain on Wednesday night, two people were shot and killed and another two victims were wounded. One of the deceased is a 15-year-old girl.

Police were called to the scene in Tafelsig, where they found the four with gunshot wounds to their bodies.
 
The police's Wesley Twigg said no arrests have yet been made.
 
"The 24- and 15-year-old victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victims were taken to a medical facility for medical treatment.

"According to reports, unknown suspects approached the victims on foot and started shooting at them before fleeing the scene. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation."
 
Over the weekend, a shooting in Hout Bay claimed the lives of several people, while in the gang-stricken area of Hanover Park, seven teenagers were wounded in a gun attack.
 
At the same time, the Western Cape Community Police Board released a statement, expressing outrage at what it called the relentless violence that's recently gripped the Cape.
