JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba said that he was appalled by the state of service delivery in townships across the City of Tshwane.
Mashaba said that the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led government had done nothing to improve disadvantaged communities in the capital city.
This despite his party running the metro alongside the DA through a coalition arrangement established after the 2021 local government.
While ActionSA forms part of the DA-led coalition government in Tshwane, the political party is seemingly frustrated with the state of service delivery in the metro.
EWN has learnt that ActionSA has approached the African National Congress (ANC) to discuss dethroning the DA in the city amid their collapsing relationship.
Party leader Mashaba said that it was time his party acted against a failing government.
"If I look at the state of Tshwane, particularly in the townships and villages, so you go to those communities right now, and as you are aware, the DA has been in government there since 2016."
ActionSA's relationship with the ANC has seen its candidate being elected as the Speaker in the Johannesburg council.
