JOHANNESBURG - Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen said the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party is evidently becoming an organisation for politicians accused of looting the public purse.
Steenhuisen was speaking to EWN about Floyd Shivambu's decision to join the MK Party following his exit from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

The DA leader said the ideological position of the EFF was far different to that of the MK party, suggesting there’s more to Shivambu’s exit than his assertion that it was a political decision.
"The reality is that he’s chosen to go to another party. That signals he has troubles within the EFF. But it also signals he has a coalescence now around the forces of the radical left that are there not on principle."
He said South Africans should be concerned about the calibre of leaders in the MK Party.
"It’s clearly a coming together of the forces of state capture and of VBS in consolidation around Mr Zuma."
He said recent political developments had shown the Government of National Unity (GNU) must be protected from political instability.
