JOHANNESBURG - The fight for political positions in the City of Johannesburg continues, as a new Speaker of council is expected to be elected on Wednesday morning.

The seat was left vacant last week after the resignation of the African Independent Congress (AIC)’s Margaret Arnolds, who has been appointed as Finance MMC.

EWN understands the African National Congress (ANC) plans to support the election of an ActionSA candidate for the Speaker position.
