CAPE TOWN - The Cape of Good Hope SPCA said that one of its wildlife inspectors was following a brazen baboon traipsing through the Southern suburbs.
The animal has been seen in several areas since Monday, including Ottery, Plumstead and Kenwyn.
Chief Inspector at the organisation, Jaco Pieterse: "We've got sight of the baboon and we're waiting for a wildlife veterinarian to come out this morning to assist us with darting the baboon. So, currently the baboon is in the Wetton area. We're calling on the public to please stay away. We know baboons are beautiful to look at, they [the people] all want to take pictures for TikTok and all that but please stay clear because the more people approach, the more stressed the baboon gets and then it makes it difficult fro us to get the baboon darted."
