'Awesome Foursome' Olympians to be inducted into SA Sport Hall of Fame

Swimming alum, Ryk Neethling will be inducted into the South African Sport Hall of Fame next week in Johannesburg along with four other Olympic legends.
Roland Schoeman, Lyndon Ferns, Darian Townsend and Ryk Neethling shattered the world record to claim Olympic gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the Athens Olympics in 2004.
A moment of pure magic that left many calling them the 'awesome foursome.'
The four will reunite at the ceremony for the first time in 16 years.
Neethling shared the news and his excitement about this career defining moment with a post on X.
"We look a bit differently these days... but I'm extremely excited to see them and other Olympians that will be inducted to the Hall of Fame - it's a great comradery between the athletes so it's going to be great... I'm sure it's going to be fun."
