EFF Student Command calls on members to close ranks following Shivambu's exit
As students prepare for the upcoming SRC elections, members of the EFF Student Command are making their views of Shivambu’s resignation clear.
JOHANNESBURG - As the dust settles following Floyd Shivambu's resignation from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), the party's student command has called on its members to close rank as the former deputy president was labelled a sell-out.
Shivambu, in an earth-shattering move, announced last week he would not renew his membership, instead opting to join former president Jacob Zuma's uMkhonto we Sizwe Party (MK Party).
He also committed to not saying anything that compromised the integrity of the EFF, while calling on the fighters to avoid slander and the mischaracterisation of his decision.
However, over the weekend, several videos of EFF members emerged on social media, rejecting Shivambu and the MK Party.

As students prepare for the upcoming SRC elections, members of the EFF Student Command made their views of Shivambu’s resignation clear.
This as former secretary general, Godrich Gardee, has called on members to give the party a heads-up if they know of anyone who intends to deflect from the organisation.
He said it's an obligation to inform the organisation of those trying to recruit among the red berets.
Gardee also warned that being silent was being complicit in what is currently unfolding.
Meanwhile, his successor, Marshall Dlamini, reassured party members that their leader Julius Malema was doing well.
