JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng will refine and consolidate its plans for the province as its executive holds a lekgotla in Boksburg on Sunday.

Representatives from the party’s regional structures and government deployees will deliberate on priorities in the organisation’s manifesto and policy programmes.

The ANC in Gauteng is picking up the pieces following a dismal showing at the polls – where it only managed to garner 34% of the voter share.

The ANC in Gauteng has started its post-elections reflections - with it expected to get a more in-depth assessment of its performance on Sunday.

Eyewitness News understands its already started discussions on functioning as a minority government and how its relationship with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) – which it works with across several municipalities – will be without Floyd Shivambu – who resigned from the red berets this week.

Sunday’s provincial executive committee (PEC) lekgotla is expected to be a marathon sitting – with six of the priorities listed in the ANC’s manifesto including job creation – reducing poverty – curbing the high cost of living and building a capable state also featuring high on the agenda.

The PEC Lekgotla has been set for two days in Boksburg.
