City Power worried about landlords not paying bills despite tenants paying

JOHANNESBURG - City Power said it's noticed a worrying trend of landlords not paying electricity bills, even after tenants have paid their dues.
This followed a cut-off operation in Randburg, Johannesburg, on Thursday.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said nine defaulting accounts belonging to residential complexes were targeted.
“We are finding ourselves in conflict with the residents of these complexes, who will tell us that they have paid their monthly dues, but this money did not come to City Power. But we are dealing with this.”
