Like many major cities, New York is filled with little grey pigeons living among residents.

Now artist Iván Argote is bringing a 16-foot statue of a pigeon named 'dinosaur' to New York’s High Line Plinth, where it will remain for 18 months.

According to the Smithsonian magazine, Argote wants the statue to generate feelings of ‘attraction, seduction, and fear’ among the inhabitants of the Big Apple.

The statue will be erected in October, and Argote reportedly hopes to change how people see the bird.

“A lot of people are saying they are rats with wings, and they do not want to celebrate the pigeon.”
