Listen to Dricus tell Kfm Mornings all about the match...
Kfm Mornings sit down with UFC Middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis.
UFC Middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis will defend his title against Israel Adesanya on Sunday (18 August) in the main event of UFC 305 at 06:30 am (South African time).
Du Plessis (career record 21-2) won the middleweight title in January 2024 when he claimed a split decision triumph over Sean Strickland in Toronto, becoming the first South African to win a UFC championship.
Nigerian-born Adesanya (career record 24-3) is a former two-time middleweight champion but lost the title to Strickland via unanimous decision in September last year.
The event is set to take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia and will commence a day after the Springboks tackle the Wallabies on Saturday (17 August).
While the Springboks are in town, they're staying to watch Du Plessis' match!
Du Plessis says back-to-back rugby world champions Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth will walk him down to the Octagon with a special song that's under embargo until fight day.
As Darren says, 'we always bet on Dricus' - good luck to the champ!
