TSHWANE - Tshwane firefighters had their hands full this weekend battling blazes across the capital.

There was a factory on fire in Rosslyn on Saturday, and emergency services also attended to an outbuilding in Booysens, which caught ablaze less than an hour later.

They managed to extinguish both fires.

Tshwane Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni said there were no injuries, and they were investigating what caused the fires.

"Burning charcoal produces large amounts of carbon monoxide, so do not leave it in the house when sleeping. Never use fuels that are not designed for your heating unit. Unapproved controlled burning must never be carried out. No controlled burning will be approved during this period."
