Speaking to EWN on the sidelines, Chiloane acknowledged the exponential growth of the province’s population and revealed the department’s plan to build additional schools.

"At the minimum we get 500 to a 1000 people coming into Gauteng every day and those numbers ultimately are putting pressure on the system because they are bringing their families, so in the next five years we’re looking at building 100 schools."
