CAPE TOWN - In Western Cape, disaster management teams will continue to monitor Riverlands after the weather service predicted more disruptive winds and rainfall.

More than 220 people were uprooted from their homes after the walls of three dam retention walls burst and left over 50 homes flooded.

The province’s disaster management’s executive director, Colin Diener, said a delegation from the national Department of Human Settlements will visit the area to assess the extent of the damage.

"There's continued humanitarian assistance provided to the public in Riverlands and Chatsworth area that were affected, and the national Human Settlements Department will be sending a delegation to provide emergency housing to the people that have been affected."
