CAPE TOWN - Parliament said that the MK Party had informed Speaker Thoko Didiza of its decision to fire 15 of its MPs.
The members have been removed by the party to make way for others, just two months after joining the National Assembly.
The changes come as the party tries to have former Eskom and Transnet CEOs Brian Molefe and Lucky Montana sworn in as MPs.
The MK Party wrote to Didiza, informing her of the party’s decision to replace certain members after "depleting" its national list of candidates as required by law.
Parliament spokesperson, Moloto Mothapo, said the emails were submitted through the party's Chief Whip Sihle Ngubane.
The changes to the party's caucus also comes after Parliament raised concerns about the list's compliance with the law.
"Parliament confirms that it has received correspondence from the MK Party advising the Speaker of the National Assembly of its decision to remove 15 of its public representatives from the National Assembly".
Mothapo said the Speaker was currently considering the correspondence from Ngubane, and a decision would be made in due course.
