JOHANNESBURG -Justice Minister Thembi Simelane is confident about a ruling this month on South Africa’s bid to extradite two suspects in the murder of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, from Eswatini.

The two were gunned down on Durban’s Florida Road in February last year.

A total of seven suspects were subsequently arrested, including Siyabonga and Melusi Ndimande who were nabbed in Eswatini.

South Africa is now trying to get them sent home to stand trial.

The Manzini Magistrate's Court is expected to rule on the bid to extradite Siyabonga and Melusi Ndimande, on the 16th of this month.

Ahead of the ruling, Minister Thembi Simelane is confident.

"We have a very good relationship with the people of Eswatini, the government of Eswatini. They’ve actually been very helpful also in that case."

She also says they’re making progress in their efforts to extradite self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary.

"Our team just returned back … after deposing the final affidavits with the Malawi government. We also at the same time - or somewhere, one hopes, around September - could be getting a verdict on the Bushiri matter."
