Incident where Mboro threatened teachers with machete reported to police – principal

JOHANNESBURG - A principal at a Katlehong primary school where well-known pastor Paseka "Mboro" Motsoeneng threatened teachers with a machete said the incident has been reported to the police.
A video of Motsoeneng wielding the weapon at Matshidiso Primary School has been widely circulated on social media.
The Gauteng Department of Education said the pastor's grandchildren were allegedly grabbed by their father to take them out of school.
The teachers, who feared for their lives, said the pupils could not be released during school hours without the permission of their grandmother.
Department spokesperson Steve Mabona said: "The MEC [Matome Chiloane] has indicated that the safety and wellbeing of our learners and educators are of utmost priority.
"Such acts of violence and intimidation will not be tolerated in our space. The department is committed to ensuring that justice is served in this matter."
