8 suspected cash-in-transit robbers killed in Khayelitsha in shootout with police

CAPE TOWN - Police have killed eight would-be cash-in-transit robbers in Khayelitsha.
Officers were deployed to Town Two on Monday night after receiving information about a possible cash-in-transit robbery.
As the team approached the suspects, the gunmen started firing shots at police, who retaliated.
The police's Novela Potelwa said that five other suspects were arrested.
"After the shootout, police confiscated an assortment of firearms comprising of seven AK-47 rifles, two R5 rifles, an R4 rifle, two pistols as well as an assortment of rounds of ammunition."
