ANC fully aware of risks and opportunities with GNU - Ramaphosa
Despite concerns about its stability, ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, said the GNU coalition would be able to advance the interests of South Africans.

JOHANNESBURG - As the Government of National Unity (GNU) continues to find its footing, African National Congress (ANC) president, Cyril Ramaphosa, said the ANC was fully aware of the risks and opportunities that lie ahead.
Despite concerns about its stability, Ramaphosa said the GNU coalition would be able to advance the interests of South Africans.

He said the ANC would now also turn its focus on the party's future and how it can better itself.
Speaking at the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) lekgotla in Boksburg on Sunday, Ramaphosa praised the party for its maturity and humility following its dismal election performance.
"We accepted that the people of South Africa made it clear that they are impatient with political bickering and the endless blame game among politicians and political parties. The people of South Africa want us to put their needs, their interests, and aspirations first."
