Daveyton Skills School drownings: Law firm recommends school’s principal be held liable for deaths

JOHANNESBURG - An independent law firm appointed to investigate the drownings of two learners from the Daveyton Skills School has recommended that the school’s principal be held liable for the deaths.
Seanago Attorneys found that Sibusiso Sibiya died while attempting to save Siphamandla Peterson from drowning in the Henneops River while at a discipline camp in Centurion earlier this year.

The learners were laid to rest nine days after the incident in a joint funeral held in Tembisa.
A three-month probe into their deaths was launched and the findings were shared with the respective families on Tuesday.
