JOHANNESBURG - Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has announced that Eskom’s current energy availability factor has remained at 70% in the last seven days.
The minister was addressing members of the media at his weekly update on the country’s power situation.
He praised Eskom’s efforts after it reflected 35 000 MW of available capacity last Tuesday.
"The last time we had seen these numbers was about six years ago, the 16th of July 2018. This is phenomenal. It’s confirmation that this strategy adopted by the board is working and we are going to stay at it and ensure we are able to continue to deliver the kind of performance that is required."
