EersteĀ River, Hanover Park, Manenberg, Mfuleni, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, and Langa have been identified as hotspots for mass shootings and gang-related crimes.
The City's MMC for Safety and Security, JP Smith, said there's a reward for residents who can come forward with information that will lead to the arrests of the criminals.
"Metal thieves, people stealing copper cable, and the variety of other things - we are explaining to them that they can make a telephone call to a discreet number where we will not share information, where we will not divulge the identity, that we are willing to pay a reward for that information."
