The load reduction in affected areas kicks in from 05:00 to 07:00 and 17:00 to 19:00 on a rotational basis.
This includes areas such as Mandela Park in Khayelitsha, Crossroads, Philippi, Mfuleni, parts of Montague Gardens, and Airport Industria.
"It is anticipated that the cold weather will increase the demand on the Eskom network," said provincial Eskom Spokesperson Lucy Ndou.
"During the load reduction implementation, customers are reminded to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to the power surge when supply returns."
