Six killed in head-on collision near Mthatha
The Eastern Cape Transport Department said three other people are in a critical condition in hospital

JOHANNESBURG - Six people have died in a head-on collision on the N2 near Qweqwe village just outside Mthatha.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department said three other people are in a critical condition in hospital.
According to the department, a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
It is the second deadly crash in the province in just 24 hours. On Thursday, two people died in a another accident.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose said that an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
"We can confirm the death of six men in this horrible accident just outside Mthatha. The MEC for Transport in the Eastern Cape, Mr Xolile Nqaba extended his condolences to the families and is also calling on road users to be extra vigilant at all times."
